Current Research
Using fluorescence microscopy, parallel image processing and machine learning to examine the effects of kinase inhibitors on live cells.
Tamnun-E-Mursalin, M.Sc
The main goal of the research is to identify a suitable staining procedure and an optimal parallel image processing techniques which will be able to classify different kinase inhibitors from treated cells. The project will require three different phases: i) identifying an appropriate dye that provides sufficient information, ii) identifying optimal parallel image processing tool to extract information iii) distinguishing the Kinase inhibitors. The first part of the project is to identify an appropriate dye that can stain the cell and provide the most physiological and morphological imaging information. The process involves treating cells with different dye, capturing the florescent images of treated cells and analyzing the imaging properties of the stained cells. The second part of the project is to find the best image processing technique to extract physiological relevant information from these images and parallely processing them. The image processing technique should successfully be able to analyzed the physiological behavior, such as, autophagy, apoptosis, er stress, nacarosis and as many other relevant information from the images and perform the operation parallely. In the third phase, the appropriate dye and optimal image process tool will be applied on cells treated with library of kinase inhibitors. The goal is to identify a optimize technique by using machine learning and parallel processing that will be able to classify the kinase inhibitors base on the images achieved from the stained cells.
