Research Interests

Samir's main research interests include, but not limited to, the development of compact bedside healthcare solutions for early detection and monitoring pathologies; but also biomedical signal and image processing, system design and optics/photonics.

  • Early detection of cancerous cells in Barett's esophageal and Photodynamic therapy (PDT) treatment
  • Smart home and Medical Compliance Monitoring in community dwelling seniors
