Biography

Morgan Richards is a Ph. D. candidate at McMaster University studying Engineering Physics. He graduated with an H.B.Sc. in Physics from McMaster in 2018. His research focuses on the design of optical systems for microscopy and hyperspectral imaging systems. In his research, Morgan has used single-photon counting technology and pulsed laser systems to design novel multi-point fluorescence lifetime imaging confocal microscopes, utilized optical design software such as Opticstudio in conjunction with tools such as Matlab to explore and optimize designs. He is a member of McFocal Advanced Imaging, a spin-off from the McMaster Biophotonics Research Group. He has also participated as lead entrepreneur, performing customer validation and planning the company direction.
