Project Description

Adeel will be continuing on a project where the heart rate variance (HRV) of mice is tested when the stomach is put under distension. The distension should cause a stimulus to the medulla, which in-turn should send a parasympathetic response to the heart to decrease its pumping. Interstitial cells of Cajal are cells located in the stomach which provide the main stimulus to the brain. Adeel will be observing whether the abscess of these cells cause a change in the HRV.
