**NEED SOME EXTRA HELP? COME TO TUTORIAL NEXT WEEK. (ROOM AND TIME - TO BE ANNOUNCED)**

Hey Folks,

PLEASE PASS THE MESSAGE TO THE OTHER EP3W04 STUDENTS THAT THERE WILL BE EXTRA HELP TUTORIAL SESSION(S) NEXT WEEK.  I am still trying to sort out the time and place, so check Avenue periodically for updates, and SPREAD THE WORD.

I am sure that a lot of students are concerned about their marks in this course, and would like to do all that they can to pull them up now at the end game.  Your only option at this point is to get a good handle on the course material, and to show us that you really understand it.  This last assignment and the final exam are going to pull together various elements of the course, and so they provide a good opportunity for you to demonstrate the level of understanding that you are finishing the course with. 

To help you out with achieving this level of understanding, I am offering next week to do a couple (probably/hopefully 2) optional tutorial sessions.  During these sessions, I would like to walk through the course and find out where the misconceptions are, and try to dymystify some concepts that students are struggling with (so it is important that you come for the entire session - or sessions - if you want to get the most out of the experience).  It is common in a statistics course for students to get bogged down by all of the various distributions and statistical testing methods so that it is hard to see the underlying principles, but rest assured that there are underlying principles to be found!  Hopefully, during the sessions we have enough time (and attendance) so that you at least know what are the central (hint, hint) concepts to understand.

I would also like to give you a firm idea as to what we are looking for when we assess the methods by which you approach statistical analysis and the presentation of your statistical studies and solutions.  This will hopefully help you to write your responses in a way that gives you the most marks for the hard work you put into it.  If a student writes a lot about something that is tangential to the question, it can take a lot of work without resulting in any marks whatsoever, so it is crucial that you know what to focus on.

Hopefully I will see a lot of you at the tutorial(s).  And remember to PASS ON THIS MESSAGE TO THE OTHER EP3W04 STUDENTS so that we can get as much of a turnout as possible.  If possible, send out some text messages or emails to your friends in the course and ask them to pass it along to their friends, and so on.
